This is kind of a silly, semi-noobish question but I want to throw it out there. I'm guessing many of you have seen the video on youtube profiling how those White House ales are made (if not, it's here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dygQrX8FI3Q. There's nothing mind blowing about it - a simple extract-brew procedure. But I'm always intrigued when I see the part where they're filling bottles. Rather than running tubing from the bottling bucket to the bottling cane, they jam the cane up inside the spigot of the bucket and then kind of fill the bottles sort of like the way you'd draw a beer from a tap. Does anyone else do it this way? Is there any advantages over using tubing between the two? Lord knows I'd rather just keg everything but our keezer only holds the three cornies we already have. So anything that lessens the tedium of bottling day is welcome!

I have a short ~2 inch piece of flexible tubing that I use to attach a bottling cane to the spigot on my bottling bucket. It makes it much easier to bottle in my experience. I cant claim credit for it as it is something I saw on another forum, but it really saves me time/effort.
