Kal,
I was wondering if you would be kind enough to add the wiring diagram for us who are using the Auber Timer. I know a someone over on HBT made a diagram. I cant log in right now to find it(think HBT is having some issues), but I can find it for you if you are willing to post it.
Edit: Mr Google help me find it, not sure what is up with HBT

I'm also using the auber timer. I don't have it in hand yet, but from the manual and the pictures, it looks like the timer has a reset button, unlike the Omega timer. Is a separate reset button then necessary/desirable? I'm thinking of replacing the panel reset button with a led and switch, so that the timer/tachometer can be used to control external devices, like the grain mill motor.

Thanks Kal..
if we want to use both manual and auto mode in the boil PID should we set A-M to 1 or will a 0 setting lets us do that also?
thanks again.

I will likely (eventually) post the Auber timer instructions. I need/want to verify a few things first and make sure it works 100% correctly since I don't have a Auber timer myself.

A-M set to 2 suppresses manual mode. I'm not entirely sure what A-M 1 does. It appears to do the same as A-M 0.
I updated the page:
Quote: | A-M: This controls whether automatic or manual (or both) PID control modes are allowed. The default value of 2 disables manual mode completely and is fine for the Hot Liquor Tank and Mash/Lauter Tun PIDs. For the Boil Kettle PID this should be set to 0 so that both manual and automatic modes can be used. We use manual mode exclusively. Some people may prefer to initially run the PID in automatic mode with a temperature set to just below boiling (like 208F) and turn on the alarm. The alarm will then sound when 208F is reached and the PID can be switched to manual mode to continue with boiling while carefully watching for a boilover. |
