The louvered Blichmann false bottom sits on the stepped bottom shelf of the Blichmann Boilermaker kettle used as a Mash/Lauter Tun. The weight of the grain holds the false bottom down during use, creating a tight seal without having to use a gasket or other special parts. This seal virtually eliminates sidewall shunting, thus maximizing mash efficiency as well as simplifying installation and cleaning. The false bottom does not require any tools for removal or installation - simply pull the dip tube out by hand and lift the false bottom out of the kettle.

The dip tube sits close to the edge of the kettle, making stirring with a mash paddle easier than kettles where the dip tube extends to the center. (There is no benefit to extending the dip tube to the center as flow throughout the grain bed is very even throughout given that there is higher restriction through the grain bed than the area under the false bottom which has very low restriction).

Works in Blichmann BoilerMaker 10 gallon G1 and G2 kettles.
